All the betrayers in the party had left the organisation and all those with it now are its genuine activists and leaders, working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) K.T. Rama Rao said.

Speaking at the two-party meetings of the Sirpur-Kagaznagar and Vikarabad constituency held in Telangana Bhavan here on Saturday, he said there was every possibility of the State government (State Election Commission) issuing the local bodies’ election notification within 10-15 days and every party member should work for the success of party candidates. Only those who would have better winning chances would be selected by the party.

Mr. Rama Rao said it was as part of the realignment of political forces and with a view to not allow Telangana to become a failed experiment the BRS had admitted some MLAs won on other parties’ tickets and as promised to them they were given an opportunity to contest the seats in the 2023 recent election too.

Stating that BRS has an efficient leader in Dr. R.S. Praveen Kumar in Kagaznagar, he said the ideas of Dr. Kumar for future Telangana were similar to those of his (KTR). Despite being lured by the ruling party with a Cabinet-rank post, Dr. Kumar had preferred to join the Opposition BRS after the Assembly elections as he believes in the fact that it was BRS that was capable doing justice to dalits and bahujans.

Party leaders R.S. Praveen Kumar, M. Anand and several other constituency-level leaders of Vikarabad and Sirpur Kagazngar participated in the meeting.
